Ruisi Quartet 24th Oct 2016 at the Library Theatre Map
Winners of the Royal Philharmonic Society award for Young British String Players, the Ruisi Quartet has quickly established a reputation as one of our leading young quartets. Founded in 2012 by brothers Alessandro and Max, the quartet performs regularly throughout the UK and Europe. A highlight of their programme is Ethel Smyth’s lyrical, dramatic and rarely heard E minor Quartet. To learn more about this fascinating composer, conductor and suffragette, most celebrated for her opera The Wreckers, please come to our concert on Monday 5th December, for a biographical, musical portrait by the Galos Piano Trio with soprano Sarah Gabriel.
