One of Britain’s finest quartets offering a programme which includes the two most famous quartets of Mozart and Schubert. These are complemented by a performance of Vice-President John McCabe’s recent seventh quartet. As Anthony Burton wrote recently about the work in BBC Music Magazine ‘…it holds in balance the lyrical and the propulsive, the declamatory and the intimate, before dissolving into ‘a gentle summer sky at dusk’.’
