This programme is the first of our collaborations this season with London’s Conway Hall. This trio from Switzerland play throughout Europe and are offering us a programme of three enduring works from the piano trio repertoire. An immediate and infectious joy emanates from the Romany, Czech and Basque folk influences in all three pieces, and there is something especially urgent in the narrative of the Ravel work, which the composer was hurriedly finishing before he finally left Saint-Jean-de-Luz to serve in the Great War.
