Andrew & Daniel Zolinsky 27th June 2022 St. Mary’s Church Map
This shared piano recital has been directly inspired by our season’s theme of Family Relationships. Andrew Zolinsky is a much admired international pianist with a reputation for promoting the widest range of often unusual repertoire. His son Daniel is currently studying music at Oxford University.
Together they have devised a programme of great ‘familial’ ingenuity. Two Bachs – father and son; devotional music from Messiaen composed for his wife, the keyboard player Yvonne Loriod; Liszt’s Un Sospiro dedicated to his Uncle Eduard, who managed the composer’s affairs for more than 30 years; duet transcriptions of the songs of the Gershwin brothers. This eclectic, wonderfully varied programme is a real celebration of what it is to play the piano.
