Counterpoise 27th Feb 2017 at the Library Theatre Map
A fascinating programme with this unusual combination of instruments, including La Création du Monde by Milhaud, his ballet score depicting the creation of the world according to African folk legend. Works by Jean Hasse, including her 'haunting' Ghosts Before Breakfast, will be supported by filmed images. Two of those pieces will be world premières generously commissioned with funds from the Ambache Charitable Trust. It’s also a great pleasure to welcome back local keyboard maestro Iain Farrington, who played the organ so memorably at St Augustine’s for us two seasons ago. He features in the second half both as arranger and as the composer of a witty and charming cabaret suite.
