This arrangement for string trio of Bach’s monumental keyboard piece, the Goldberg Variations, is an intriguing feat of musical imagination. The trio have also commissioned five short new works by Scottish composers inspired by the insomniac narrative of the Bach to complete this fascinating programme, premièred earlier this year at the St Magnus Festival.
